Overview
Chicken Run is an online slots game developed by Ainsworth Game Technology that transports players to the countryside of England during World War II, where they must help a group of chickens escape from a sinister farmer’s clutches. This 5-reel slot machine features colorful graphics and engaging gameplay elements, including wilds, scatters, bonus features, Chicken Run free spins, and an intriguing story behind each symbol.
Theme and Design
Chicken Run is set in the English countryside during World War II, when food shortages led to the creation of ‘government-approved’ chicken coops. The game’s theme revolves around these makeshift farms where farmers would collect eggs from their chickens. Players join the escape efforts as a heroic rooster named Red, helping his flock escape the clutches of a notorious farmer. Each symbol is inspired by different characters in this story and conveys an image of rural England.
The slot machine features 5 reels, each containing either one of five chicken symbols, various objects like carrots, or several letters from the alphabet (A to M). A standard grid structure allows players to choose from numerous combinations of up to 15 paylines. As they navigate through levels and achieve more wins in a single gaming session, the grid adjusts accordingly.
Symbols
There are six different chicken symbols available on the game board: Red Rooster as Wild, two roosters for various characters – Bluebeak and Ginger – as High-Payers (x2), Cluck Norris’s Egg-Sellor Chicken with two legs, Ginger’s Chick sister, and finally Mr. Mischief of M&Ms egg seller, which all work according to a standard slot system.
Additional symbols on the board are carrots, wooden signs, animal cages, chicken coops and even eggs scattered about – reminiscent of farm settings but providing different rewards when collected together in various ways.
Payouts
The maximum payout offered is 5,000 credits or up to $1000 cash with a fixed return (RTP) rate ranging from around 95% at medium level, all the way down to roughly 92.1%. Each chicken symbol has specific values and multipliers according to their rank: highest valued ‘Bluebeak Rooster’ is paid out in multiples of fifty by game bet x3.
Payouts come in varying shapes, depending on two different parameters – size per win combination multiplier (WCM), which may go up or remain constant regardless how big WCM was before reaching Max Pay.
